What Is Uninstall & Reinstall For?

If your roof is being replaced, your solar panels need to come off first. Roofers can't lay new shingles or tiles underneath the array, and panels left in place can be damaged during the work. That's where we come in.

The Problem With Roofing + Solar

  • Panels block the roof

Roofers need the surface clear to install new roofing material properly.

  • Risk of damage

Working around panels risks cracked glass, broken cells, and voided warranties.

  • Permit & inspection needs

Roof replacements typically require the array to be removed and reinstalled to code.

Our Process

How It Works — Step By Step

We handle the whole cycle so your roofing crew and your solar system never get in each other's way.

A burned-out solar panel system on a house roof. Are solar panel systems dangerous and can they cause fires?
1

We Remove The Panels

Our crew safely disconnects the electrical system, unbolts the racking, and carefully lifts every panel off your roof. All hardware and wiring is labeled and stored so nothing gets lost.

  • System safely shut down & disconnected
  • Racking and mounting hardware removed
  • Panels stacked and protected on site
2

We Clean Them Up

Once the panels are off the roof, we take the opportunity to clean them thoroughly — removing dust, pollen, and debris so they perform at their best when they go back up.

  • Panels washed and dried
  • Frames and glass inspected
  • Any issues flagged before reinstall

Your Roofer Installs The New Roof

With a clear roof deck, your roofing company can install the new roof properly — no panels in the way, no risk of damage, and a full warranty on their work.

  • Clear surface for new roofing
  • We coordinate timing with your roofer
  • Panels stored safely until reinstall
4

We Reinstall & Test

Once your new roof is on, we come back, re-mount the racking and panels, reconnect the electrical system, and thoroughly test everything to make sure you're producing power again.

  • Racking re-mounted to new roof
  • Electrical reconnected & tested
  • Performance verified before we leave
